The Story (so far)
I’m Jessi—the human behind Fancytastic.
I’ve always made things. Pop-up dioramas as a kid, messy mixed media as an adult. Making is how I process life. Turning thoughts into something you can hold.
In 2018, after leaving a relationship that had quietly worn me down for a decade, people would ask how I was. I’d say, I’m fan-cy-tastic. It wasn’t a real word, so it wasn’t a lie. It was a deflection that kept things light, even when they were heavy.
The word stuck. At first, it was about survival.
Eventually, it became a nod to the part of me that hoped ‘better’ was still an option, even when I wasn’t sure I believed it. Even when I didn’t know who I was outside of that mode.
So I started making things again. No pressure, no agenda. Just creating
This is the result: Wood journals, pins, art for your wall. Sometimes automata. Maybe things I haven’t thought of yet. They’re a little off, in a good way. Nostalgic, with some emotional weight. And usually some glitter.
If something here feels familiar, that’s recognition.t’s proof that someone else was in a similar place. A quiet high-five from someone who gets it. I see you.
Fancytastically,
Jessi
